1. Who we are
Counterscope ("we") operates the Service and is the controller of the personal data described here. This policy explains what we process and your rights under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
2. Data we process
Account data: your name, work email, organisation, role, and usage of the Service. Content data: the public court and regulatory records we index relate to companies and the parties named in those public records — they are processed as public-record information, not as personal data you provide to us.
3. In-region hosting
UAE-resident data is hosted in-country. We choose infrastructure and sub-processors with data residency in mind so teams that cannot send records offshore can use the Service.
4. Purposes & legal basis
We process account data to provide, secure, and improve the Service, to bill you, and to communicate with you. We process public-record content to deliver the Service’s core function. Our legal bases include performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating the Service, and compliance with law.
5. Sub-processors & sharing
We use vetted service providers (e.g., hosting, payments, email, product analytics) under appropriate data-processing terms. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data where required by law.
6. Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, accounting, and audit purposes, then delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
Subject to the PDPL, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and may object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
8. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk — including access controls, encryption in transit, tenant isolation, and audit logging — and review them regularly.
9. Analytics & cookies
We use privacy-respecting product analytics to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. Where analytics use cookies or similar technologies, we limit them to what is necessary and configurable.
