1. Agreement

These Terms govern your access to and use of Counterscope (the "Service"), operated by Counterscope. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation.

2. What the Service is

Counterscope is UAE legal-risk intelligence: it aggregates publicly available UAE court and regulatory records, resolves them to entities, and presents an explainable risk score with the underlying evidence. It is a source of evidence from public records — not a watchlist, and not a sanctions or politically-exposed-person (PEP) database.

3. Decision support, not advice

The Service provides decision support. It is not legal, financial, or compliance advice, and it is not a substitute for your own due diligence. A score, or an absence of adverse events, reflects the sources we cover at a point in time — not a guarantee of a clean record or of completeness. You are responsible for the decisions you make using the Service.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for lawful business purposes and in accordance with your plan. You must not scrape, bulk-export beyond your plan limits, resell, or redistribute the data; attempt to re-identify anonymised records; misuse another party’s information; or use the Service to harass, defame, or unlawfully discriminate against any person or entity.

5. Accounts, plans & billing

Access is provided under the plan you select. Quotas, seats, and features are governed by your plan and the pricing presented at signup. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

6. Data accuracy & sources

We index official public records and show you which sources we cover and how fresh each is (see the Coverage page). We take care to extract accurately and link every signal to its primary source, but we do not warrant that the data is complete, current, or error-free. Where a record is under review or a source is not yet covered, we say so.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, scores, and presentation are owned by Counterscope. Underlying public records remain public records. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Counterscope is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on the Service.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to comply with law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

10. Governing law & changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notified in-product.
